IMPORTANT SAFETY ADVISORY
GRACO SNUGRIDE 22 CLASSIC CONNECT INFANT CAR SEATS- May 14, 2015
On May 14, 2015, Graco Children’s products Inc, issued a voluntary Safety Advisory in Canada in conjunction with Transport Canada concerning certain Graco Snugride 22 Classic Connect Infant car seats. Seats manufactured outside of these dates are compliant and are excluded from this action.
DEFECT: Certain combinations of the base and infant car seat do not meet the injury criterion limits as established by the Canadian Motor vehicle safety standard (CMVSS) 213.1. If a collision occurs, there is a potential risk of injury to a child occupant as this specific car seat and base combination does not appear to adequately protect the occupant.
In Canada, 1711 of these Graco car seats were sold between February 2013 and April 2015.
REMEDY: All registered owners will receive a letter containing instructions and information on how to obtain a repair kit for their affected products. The repair kit as well as instructions will be sent to affected consumers who register online at www.gracobaby.ca
Non-registered owners, or owners who have moved, should contact Graco Children's Products, at 1-800-345-4109 or [email protected] to obtain a free repair kit or, if they have any questions.

While consumers are awaiting their repair kit, it is recommended that the users install the car seat WITHOUT using the base to reduce the risk of injury, in the event of a vehicle collision.
Consumer should write on their base "DO NOT USE" or blur out the manufacturing date with a permanent black marker and dispose of it in the garbage.
The model number, model name and date of manufacture can be found on the underside of the car seat. A typical label looks like this:
The production label contains a UPC code that can be found on the underside of the car seat (below the manufacturing date label) shown above. A typical label looks like this:
The serial number is identified on the bottom right of the label. The serial number consists of an eight digit alpha numerical code. The serial number is indicated after “S/N” beginning with a letter followed by 7 numbers (see above picture).
