At Graco, we want parents to know we have you in mind–because we're parents, too. We've gingerly buckled our newborns into their first car seat and joyfully introduced them to friends and family. We've changed midnight diapers and watched our little ones discover the big world on neighborhood strolls. We know that life as a parent can be messy, exhilarating, silly, and exhausting–sometimes all at once! But the one constant is the love we feel for our kids. That's why we thoughtfully design Graco products with parents and babies in mind. We've done the research and the testing to design quality baby gear with the comfort and convenience features you want.
Our Story
Even from the start, Graco parents have been teaming up to help other parents. Graco was founded in 1942 as Graco Metal Products. But the Graco story really begins in 1953, when engineer Rex Thomas dreamed up the company’s first baby product: the Swyngomatic automatic baby swing.
The Original Invention
Rex Thomas was on the front porch with his wife as she used a string to rock their baby in a swing. Inspired, Rex joined forces with Graco engineer and father of nine David Saint to design the Swyngomatic, the world's first automatic baby swing. The company estimated they’d sell 10,000...but instead, they sold millions, quickly transforming Graco into one of the world’s leading manufacturers of baby gear.
Innovating with Parents in Mind
The Pack ‘n Play® Playard
In 1987, Nate Saint, son of the Swyngomatic inventor, launched Graco’s famous line of Pack ‘n Play® Portable Playards, which can be found in millions of homes today.
Introducing: The Travel System
Graco introduced the travel system to the market, allowing an infant car seat to click into a stroller to make getting around with your newborn even easier.
A Highchair that Grows with Your Child
